Facilities for Hire

Rooms and Spaces

Downstairs the main area (usually in the format of a comfortable Café and seating area) can be divided by large sliding doors into two areas, and these may be hired either separately or together according to requirements at modest rents.

Regular uses for the smaller spaces vary from Dance  and Fitness classes, Childrens groups, meetings, educational classes, and receptions – as well as weddings and parties using the whole of the downstairs.    Numbers up to 100 can be comfortably seated  for parties and receptions, and more can be accommodated if full seating/food service is not required.    There is a small raised stage at one end and lighting and sound equipment is available if required.

The Tolmen Centre is fully licensed for the sale of alchoholic refreshments at any time, and for all sorts of music, dance and entertainment.   However,  there is a time limit on the licence and events always have to end  by 11.30pm unless a special licence is obtained.

The kitchen and catering facility includes a large state-of-the-art electric  range cooker, commercial dishwasher, fridges and freezer.   There is crockery, glassware  and cutlery to catering standard for up to 100.

As 2013 ends, we have hopes that an attractive outdoor area will become available so that indoor/outdoor events can be organised to use the garden area to the rear of the building.

Printing

We have a well equipped print facility in the building with its own office.  This includes two high volume black and white A4 printers,   Mac and PC  computers with full publishing software (Indesign, Photoshop, MS Publisher, Powerpoint etc).    These facilities are available on a cost-plus basis for volume printing.  We also have A3 and colour printers for small volumes.

Heritage

Also within the Tolmen  Centre building we have the Constantine Heritage Centre and Museum which occupies its own space adjacent to the main building, and is run by a well qualified team of volunteer curators who are happy to help with matters of local heritage, family records and so on.

Gallery and Display

The rear part of the downstairs area (The Guildroom) is very suitable for the display of artworks and paintings.   It has been equipped with hanging rails and good lighting  and we welcome displays and exhibitions professional or amateur (wall hanging only, not suitable for sculpture or other three dimensional work).  We charge a very low commission rate on any work sold.
