Rooms and Spaces
Downstairs the main area (usually in the format of a comfortable Café and seating area) can be divided by large sliding doors into two areas, and these may be hired either separately or together according to requirements at modest rents.
Regular uses for the smaller spaces vary from Dance and Fitness classes, Childrens groups, meetings, educational classes, and receptions – as well as weddings and parties using the whole of the downstairs. Numbers up to 100 can be comfortably seated for parties and receptions, and more can be accommodated if full seating/food service is not required. There is a small raised stage at one end and lighting and sound equipment is available if required.
The Tolmen Centre is fully licensed for the sale of alchoholic refreshments at any time, and for all sorts of music, dance and entertainment. However, there is a time limit on the licence and events always have to end by 11.30pm unless a special licence is obtained.
The kitchen and catering facility includes a large state-of-the-art electric range cooker, commercial dishwasher, fridges and freezer. There is crockery, glassware and cutlery to catering standard for up to 100.
As 2013 ends, we have hopes that an attractive outdoor area will become available so that indoor/outdoor events can be organised to use the garden area to the rear of the building.
