A pared-down version of her 8-piece band Gabby Young and Other Animals, the duo consists of Gabby Young and guitarist Stephen Ellis, who present their unique blend of jazz, burlesque, gypsy folk and swing. Gabby says “we call it circus jazz, but you have to come and see us to know what that means”. Gabby’s quirky and colourful couture is as daring and different as her music.
The Duo has toured the Middle East. Europe, Japan, Australia and the USA. They have recently supported top international French stars Bridget and Zaz, and the girl band Katzenjammer from Norway. Now working together on their third album, they are engaged to be married in Spring 2016.
“Elements of music hall, opera, big band jazz and foot-stomping folk are all poured in to the mix with Gabby’s incredible vocal gymnastics holding it all together” (The Sun)
“Words cannot describe the plethora of varying sensations Gabby bestowed upon her salivating audience. Gabby Young must be seen live and in full technicolour.” (Kentishtowner)

Me And My Friends play soulful, poignant and gloriously danceable music, subtly referencing many styles, including vintage Ghanaian highlife, Jamaican roots and Afro-Brazilian folk. The UK-based quintet create a timeless sound with a global outlook, performed with an infectious energy, and the result is instantly recognisable, highly original and truly genre-defying.
We will be holding this event in our downstairs space to encourage you to dance!

UK Comedy Tour 2010
Best Medicine Management (formerly known as Good Sense Of Humour) are delighted to announce the first national tour for Radio 4, Five Live and Sky TV regular: JAMES SHERWOOD.
“gloriously pedantic and quite brilliant” The Scotsman
With TV and radio credits ranging from Radio 4’s flagship comedy shows ‘The News Quiz’ and ‘The Now Show’, through to 6Music’s ‘Jon Richardson Show’ and BBC2’s ‘Mock The Week’, James Sherwood is one of the country’s foremost young comedy writers and performers. He is also the creator and head writer on Radio 4’s brand new topical panel show ‘I Guess That’s Why They Call It The News’, and makes regular appearances on the ‘Richard Bacon Show’ (Five Live) and Sky TV’s ‘Evening Press Review’.
“elegant, intelligent stand-up” The Guardian
Having recently completed his fourth sell-out Edinburgh run, James has firmly established himself across the country and has a dedicated fan base that return year on year to see his latest show. Always accompanied by his trusty keyboard, he eschews the well-worn path of song parodies and changed lyrics, in favour of original compositions and delightful, self-contained ditties.
“savage satire” Sunday Times “fantastic” TimeOut
“piercing” Evening Standard “sharp, precise and ingenious” Chortle
He’s been compared with Bill Bailey, Marcus Brigstocke, Richard Digance, Tim Minchin and Richard Stilgoe, whilst creating a name and a niche of his own.
