with support from Men Are Singing
Start the New Year with a rambunctious and soulful musical experience brought to you by The Rat Affair; a band of musicians, theatre makers and visual artists.
Shifting between sensationally boisterous Eastern European folk and sparse reflective piano works, join The Rat Affair and their unique sound as it enraptures the listener like a rallying call.
“That’s what being in love sounds like – dramatic and blistering and gorgeous”
Sarah Gosling, BBC Introducing
With support from Men Are Singing, a Cornish, all-inclusive, cross-generational male voice choir. Singing songs by Ivor Cuttler, Björk, Talking Heads and some of their own.
It’s the perfect night to shake those New Year’s blues!
On August 14th (yes it’s the middle of the holidays but that’s when they could all get here!) at 7.30 we welcome back Edward Shaw and his “string quartet plus clarinet” STRINGENDO for a gala classical concert. This is to raise funds for the land purchase, and the Shaw family, to whom we extend grateful thanks – are arranging for this to be an evening to remember – classical music, chilled wine, light refreshments – and if we’re lucky a chance to view the newly acquired garden to the rear of the Tolmen Centre.
Hank Wangford is an authentic country singer/songwriter with a wide emotional range. Hank is renowned on both sides of the Atlantic for his originality and long years on the country music scene.
